The Art of Breastfeeding is a modern resource designed for new parents, peer supporters, and anyone who walks alongside families in their lactation journeys. The book honours the emotions, the questions, the messy moments, and the many ways breastfeeding shows up in people’s lives.
Empowering Conversations is a live, virtual workshop series designed for anyone who supports lactation. Together, we’ll explore how to communicate with care, listen deeply, and offer meaningful support through the challenges and joys of lactation.

Are you expecting a little one soon? Prepare for your breastfeeding journey with confidence by registering for LLLC’s Breastfeeding Essentials Prenatal Class! This comprehensive and supportive class is designed to provide you with the knowledge and skills you need to get breastfeeding off to a great start. Led by compassionate La Leche League Leaders, you’ll learn about the basics of breastfeeding, common challenges, and practical tips for navigating those early days.
Fatty Tissue: Shown in yellow in diagrams, fatty tissue largely determines the size of your breasts.
Glandular Tissue: The milk-making powerhouse! It resembles tiny bunches of grapes, with each "grape" (alveolus) filling with milk. These contract to send milk through thin ducts to the multiple openings in your nipples.
Fun Fact: Glandular tissue starts developing during puberty. More is added with every pregnancy and through breastfeeding, creating a unique milk-making system tailored just for your baby.
